these books chronicle the life and trials of an international marriage. warning, often extremely humorous. the author, Oguri-san, exposes the truth about international marriage by describing the events of her marriage to Tony (an american educated Hungarian/Italian). The first volume makes clear that international marriage is far from being romantic or amorous.
Tony is also the director of an NGO called ISSHO Kikaku.

OK -- now maybe you can figure this out for me. (I forgot to ask Saori today... but as I also forgot to ask her about some rather more compelling things, I can't feel too silly.)
So at some point Saori wishes Tony would call her something romantic, and they're watching the movie together, and she gleans some inspiration from that and starts calling him something in katakana that I couldn't figure out for the life of me. What is it?
Apologies if it turns out to be extremely obvious; I read the book when I was out of town and therefore without the benefit of a dictionary -- but I tried every way I know of to figure out a katakana word and it stumped me. The closest I could get was "Alf" but I don't exactly think that's it.
I asked Saori today ... turns out "urufu" is "wolf."
I still have a hard time visualizing that, but I've come to accept it.
Urufu. Wolf. Urufu. Wolf.
Katakana words are maddening!
